Privacy policy
Last updated 19 October 2026 · Deutsche Fassung. If the versions differ, the German version applies.
This policy covers the Android app “Jagdklar: Jägerprüfung 2027” (package com.elcodev.jagdklar) and this website. In short: Jagdklar needs no account, never learns your name or email address, and shows no ads.

2. Summary
- No account, no name, no email address, no ads, no location, no access to contacts or photos.
- Your study progress is backed up and synced between devices under a random ID in Google Firebase, stored in Europe. “Meine Daten löschen” (Delete my data) in the app deletes it completely.
- Anonymous usage counts (such as “round finished”) help us improve the app. They contain no answers and nothing you type, and can be switched off in Einstellungen › Datenschutz (Settings › Privacy).
- Purchases go through Google Play; RevenueCat confirms them using an anonymous ID. We never see payment details.
- Reminders are local notifications on your device; there is no push server.
3. What the app processes
3.1 Data on your device
Your settings (state, exam date, minutes per day, prior knowledge), your progress, streak, exam results and hunting-log entries are stored on your device. The species trainer’s photos (from Wikimedia Commons, with attribution) ship inside the app; the app does not contact Wikimedia. If you use Android Auto Backup, Android may back up the app’s local data to your Google account; Google is responsible for that backup.
3.2 Progress sync (Google Firebase)
Firebase Anonymous Authentication creates a random user ID that is not linked to any name, email or Google account. Under that ID, one Cloud Firestore document in the project “jagdklar-app” (Google Cloud, Europe multi-region “eur3”) holds your learning progress: the memory state per question, your streak days, exam results, the hunting-log entries you type, and settings such as your exam date. Google necessarily processes your IP address and device information to deliver and secure each request; we don’t analyse it. Purpose: backup and cross-device sync, as part of the app you use (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Kept until you delete it: Einstellungen › Meine Daten löschen deletes the document, any transfer codes and the anonymous account; you can also ask us by email.
3.3 Device transfer code (optional)
If you use “Gerät wechseln” (switch device), a copy of your progress is stored under a random 10-character code for 24 hours so your new phone can fetch it (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
3.4 Anonymous usage statistics
The app sends small events such as “round finished”, “exam finished” or “paywall viewed” to the same Firestore project, each with a random install ID, the event name, date and time, app version, platform and, for some events, simple numbers (e.g. the score of a mock exam). Events never contain answers to individual questions, anything you type, an advertising ID or a device identifier. Google Play pre-launch test devices send nothing. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can object at any time by switching statistics off in Einstellungen › Datenschutz. Individual events are deleted after at most 14 months; aggregated counts without an ID may be kept longer.
3.5 Purchases (Google Play and RevenueCat)
Jagdklar Pro is bought through Google Play Billing; Google handles payment as an independent controller and we receive no payment details. RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) confirms purchases and unlocks Pro. It receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase history for this app and basic device information (app version, Android version, storefront country), not your name, email or study content (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; Art. 6(1)(c) for statutory retention). See revenuecat.com/privacy.
3.6 Notifications
Study reminders and the exam countdown are local notifications scheduled by your device. There is no push server and no push token.
3.7 Email
If you email us, we use your address and message to reply and delete the conversation when it is resolved, unless we must keep it.
4. Recipients and processors
Google (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore; Google LLC, USA, and affiliates) and RevenueCat, Inc. (USA) as processors; Vercel Inc. (USA) hosts this website. Google is an independent controller for Google Play Billing and Android backup. We don’t sell data or share it for advertising.
5. Transfers to the United States
Elco Dev, LLC is based in the United States. Firestore data is stored in European data centres (eur3), but we, Google or RevenueCat may access it from the US, and RevenueCat processes data in the US. Transfers to US companies certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework are covered by the European Commission’s adequacy decision of 10 July 2023; Google LLC is certified. In addition, Google’s and RevenueCat’s data processing terms rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–21), in particular to object to the usage statistics. Email austin@elcodev.com; because we don’t know who you are, include the ID shown in the app (or simply delete your data in the app). You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), for example where you live; in Bavaria this is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), www.lda.bayern.de.
7. Other
You are not required to provide any data; studying on the device works without sync. There is no automated decision-making under Art. 22 GDPR: the study plan and readiness scores are calculated on your device and have no legal effect. The app is rated 12+ and collects nothing that identifies a person.
8. This website
This website is served at www.elcodev.com by Vercel Inc. (USA), which keeps technically necessary server logs (IP address, time, URL, browser user agent) to deliver the pages and prevent abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The site sets no cookies, uses no analytics or advertising and loads no third-party content; fonts are self-hosted.
9. Changes
We update this policy when the app or the law changes; the date above shows the current version.
