Deskbridge is made by Elco Dev. The short version: Deskbridge has no account and no cloud service, and we never see what’s on your phone or your Mac.

The Deskbridge app

  • Your screen, audio, clipboard and files travel directly between your phone and your Mac — over the USB cable, or over your own local Wi-Fi network if you pair wirelessly. They are never sent to us or to anyone else.
  • The helper app on your phone (used for Blackout) has no internet access. It can lock the screen (device admin, lock only), so Secure Blackout can lock your phone when it’s touched or unplugged. If — and only if — you turn on phone notifications, app calls or Do Not Disturb, it also gets notification access, so it can pass notifications and incoming calls to your Mac and restore Do Not Disturb when you unplug. You can revoke either permission in your phone’s Settings.
  • Notifications and calls you choose to show on your Mac travel over the cable (or your Wi-Fi) directly from your phone to your Mac’s Notification Center. To show a caller’s name, Deskbridge looks up the incoming number in your phone’s contacts, on the phone. None of this is stored, logged or sent anywhere else.
  • Your phone’s PIN or password, if you use Unlock Phone…, goes straight from your Mac to your phone over the cable to unlock it. Deskbridge never stores, logs or transmits it anywhere else.
  • No analytics or tracking. The app doesn’t collect usage statistics, crash reports or identifiers.
  • Your license key is checked on your Mac, offline. Activating it doesn’t contact our servers. The key contains the email address you paid with and your order reference.
  • Updates. To check for new versions, the app downloads a small update feed from elcodev.com. Like any web request, our host (Vercel) sees your IP address and the app version in that request. We don’t combine it with anything else.
  • Settings such as orientation, resolution and your trial start date are stored only on your Mac.

Buying a license

Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your email address, payment details and billing country to process the payment, send your receipt and prevent fraud. We can see your email address, the amount and the receipt in our Stripe dashboard; we never see your full card number.

We don’t keep a separate customer database. Your license key is generated from your Stripe order when you view it on the thanks page or recover it.

This website

The website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Our host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.
