Terms of service

Updated 2026-10-25. These terms are between you and Elco Dev, LLC.

The service

SettleDate provides reference data about exchange holidays, trading sessions, business days and standard settlement cycles through an API. We work to keep it accurate and cite a source for each calendar, but the data is provided "as is", without warranty. Exchanges and regulators can change schedules at short notice. Do not rely on SettleDate as the sole basis for settlement, trading, legal or financial decisions; confirm critical dates with your exchange, CSD, custodian or broker.

Not affiliated

SettleDate is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any exchange, central bank or regulator. Exchange names and MIC codes are used only to identify calendars.

Your key

Keep your API key secret. You're responsible for use of your key. One free key per person or organization; don't create accounts to get around limits. We may suspend keys used for abuse or to degrade the service.

Plans and billing

Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe, and renew until cancelled. Cancel any time in the billing portal; your plan runs to the end of the paid period and then returns to Free. Calls beyond your monthly allowance are refused (HTTP 429), not billed. If something went wrong, email us within 14 days of a charge and we'll make it right, including a refund where appropriate.

Use of the data

You may use API results in your own internal tools and applications. Showing results to your own customers in a product you sell ("redistribution") requires the Business plan. You may not resell bulk copies of the data as a competing dataset. The underlying open-source data remains under its own licenses (Apache-2.0 and MIT; see data sources).

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including trading losses or failed settlements.
