Elco Console vs Conductor
Choose Conductor to run several coding agents side by side on your own tasks, for free. Choose Elco Console if you want agents that work through your day on their own, in separate lanes with standing rules, and only stop to ask you.
What Conductor is
According to its website, Conductor is a Mac app that runs Claude Code, Codex and Cursor agents in parallel, each in an isolated workspace, using your own Claude login. It's free; its FAQ says it doesn't charge right now and that collaboration features may be paid later (conductor.build, FAQ).
Where Conductor is the better choice
- It's free.
- It supports more agents than Claude Code (Codex and Cursor too).
- It runs several coding agents side by side, each in its own workspace, which suits splitting work you are steering yourself.
Where Elco Console is different
- It runs on a schedule. Agents start at your workday hour, continue between tasks up to a daily cap, and write a handoff at the end of the day for tomorrow.
- Lanes with rules. Each agent has a persona and working folder; your standing rules ("drafts only", "never deploy without a yes") go to every agent.
- One inbox. Questions only you can answer arrive as one-line items with option buttons; your tap goes back to the agent that asked.
- It's Claude Code only, Mac only, and $99 once.
Can you use both?
Yes. They solve different problems: Conductor for parallel work you're steering, Elco Console for a team that keeps going while you're away.
