Agent Social Kit · self-hosted kit for Mac
Let your agents keep your product's social accounts alive, without ever posting something you'd regret.
Your agents (or you) write two weeks of posts ahead into simple files. The kit publishes them on a natural schedule to Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon, and crossposts your guides to Dev.to and Hashnode with the canonical link back home. Every post passes your guardrails first.
No Elco Console needed: it runs on your Mac with Python 3 and launchd. Official APIs only. Your tokens stay in one private file on your machine; nothing is sent to us. Not made by or affiliated with Anthropic, Meta or any platform it posts to.
Posts that go out on their own
One queue file per account. Each account posts 1–3 times a day at varied times inside a window you set, never twice within 75 minutes, with dated posts (a holiday, a launch) held for their dates. Same text never twice, the same link not twice in three days, and a missed slot while your Mac slept is skipped, not burst out later.
Guardrails before anything leaves your Mac
- Your never-list: client names, a data source you can't name, competitors, whatever you add.
- Always blocked: email addresses, phone numbers, secret-looking strings, posts over each platform's limit.
- Topic profiles per account: health claims, religious text, nicotine promotion, financial promises, or your own patterns.
- Dry-run first, a kill switch file that stops everything, and a daily report of every post id (straight into your Elco Console team log if you use it).
Crossposts that point home
Point it at your existing guides (HTML on disk). It converts them to clean Markdown, keeps your links absolute, and publishes one article a day to Dev.to and Hashnode with canonical_url set to your page, so search engines credit your site.
Forum replies, off by default
If you switch it on, the agent replies only in communities that allow it (Lemmy and Discourse forums whose admins allow bots). It reads each community's rules through its API and skips any that ban promotion, bots or AI-written posts. Claude drafts a reply only when the thread asks for exactly what your product does, and the reply has to help first. Every reply says "I make <Product>" and carries an "Automated reply" label; 2 a day per account; one removal or ban stops that community for good. It never starts threads, votes or sends DMs.
Platform rules
You connect your own accounts and stay responsible for each platform's terms. The kit is built to follow them: official APIs, Meta's Threads API with your own app, Bluesky app passwords, Mastodon accounts marked as automated, crossposts with canonical links, conservative daily limits, and no automated replies to people on Threads, Bluesky or Mastodon. Check each platform's current rules for your use, especially for regulated topics (health, finance, nicotine), which the topic profiles help you keep out.
How it works
- Describe your accounts in
config/accounts.jsonand your never-list inconfig/guardrails.json. - Fill the queues: give an agent the task "keep two weeks of posts queued per account", or write them yourself.
poster.py lintchecks every post. - Run
./install.sh, paste tokens into the private credentials file as you create each account, read the dry-run log, then switch on posting.
What you get
- The full source (Python 3, standard library only): poster (Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon), crossposter (Dev.to, Hashnode), optional forum agent (Lemmy, bot-friendly Discourse), guardrails, launchd installer and tests.
- A setup guide for each platform, including the one Meta app that covers all your Threads accounts.
- Updates to version 1.x.

FAQ
Do I need Elco Console?
No. The kit runs on its own from launchd on any Mac with Python 3. If you use Elco Console, one setting sends the daily post report into your team log.
Which platforms does it post to?
Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon for scheduled posts, and Dev.to and Hashnode for crossposting your own articles with the canonical link back to your site. Forum replies (off by default) cover Lemmy and Discourse forums that allow bots.
Does it write the posts for me?
No. You or your agents write posts ahead into queue files; the kit schedules, checks and publishes them. A common setup is a Claude Code agent with the task "keep two weeks of posts queued per account". Forum replies are the exception: Claude drafts them, under the kit's rules.
Will it get my accounts banned?
It's built to follow the platforms' rules: official APIs only, 1–3 posts a day per account, no replies to people on Threads or Bluesky, and forum replies only where a community's own rules allow them, always disclosed and labeled as automated. Platforms can still change their rules; you decide what runs, and a kill switch stops everything.
Does anything go to Elco Dev?
No. It runs on your Mac and talks only to the platforms you connect. Your tokens stay in one private file on your machine.
I already own Elco Console. What do I pay?
$29 instead of $49. Paste your Elco Console download link into the Console-owner form on this page.
What do I get?
The full source (Python 3, standard library only), example configuration, a launchd installer, tests, a setup guide for each platform, and updates to version 1.x.
