Pickleball Ladder Score Sheet (Free Printable + CSV)
A pickleball ladder score sheet records the games in one ladder box (who partnered whom and the scores), then each player's wins and point differential, so you can rank the box and move players up or down for the next session.

Key takeaways
- A box of four plays three games so everyone partners everyone once; a box of five plays five games and each player sits out once.
- Rank each box by wins, then point differential; in boxes of five, use win percentage if box sizes differ across courts.
- Fill in the sheet as games finish, not at the end of the night.
- The CSV templates open in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

Box of five
Date: ________ Box: ____ Court: ____
Five games: everyone plays four, sits out once, and partners each other player exactly once.
| Game | Team 1 | Team 2 | Sits out | Score |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | A + B | C + D | E | ____ – ____ |
| 2 | A + C | B + E | D | ____ – ____ |

If some courts have boxes of four and others five, rank by win percentage or total points so the boxes are comparable.

How to fill it in
- Before the first serve, write the names next to the letters in ladder order (highest-ranked as A).
- After each game, write the score on that game's line straight away. Scores written from memory at the end of the night cause arguments.
- Total each player. Count wins, then add the points they scored (points for) and the points scored against their team (points against) across the games they played.
- Rank the box: wins first, then differential (points for minus points against).
- Mark the movement: with one up, one down, the top player moves up a box and the bottom player moves down. Hand the sheet to the organizer.
Worked example
A box of four plays games to 11:
| Game | Teams | Score |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | A + B v C + D | 11 – 7 |
| 2 | A + C v B + D | 9 – 11 |
| 3 | A + D v B + C | 11 – 8 |
| Player | Wins | Points for | Points against | Differential |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A | 2 | 31 | 26 | +5 |
| B | 2 | 30 | 27 | +3 |
| C | 0 | 24 | 33 | –9 |
| D | 2 | 29 | 28 | +1 |
A, B and D each have two wins, so differential decides: A (+5) first, B (+3) second, D (+1) third. C, with no wins, is last. With one up, one down, A moves up a box and C moves down.

Write each player's box number for each week. If you award season points, decide the rule before week one (for example, points for box rank plus a bonus for higher boxes) and write it at the top of the sheet.
Frequently asked questions
How do you score a pickleball ladder box?
Each player keeps their own record across the box's games: wins, points for and points against. Rank by wins, then by point differential (points for minus points against).
What is the schedule for a box of five?
Five games: A+B v C+D (E sits), A+C v B+E (D sits), A+E v B+D (C sits), A+D v C+E (B sits), B+C v D+E (A sits). Everyone plays four games, sits once and partners each other player exactly once.
Can I use this in Google Sheets?
Yes. Download the CSV template and open it in Google Sheets (File, Import) or Excel. The columns match the printed sheet.
Who moves up and down?
The usual rule is one up, one down: the top player in each box moves up a box for the next session and the bottom player moves down. The top of the top box and the bottom of the bottom box stay put.
