Traditional Catholic prayer
The Act of Faith
A profession of belief in all that God has revealed and the Church teaches.
O my God, I firmly believe that thou art one God in three divine Persons,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
I believe that thy divine Son became man and died for our sins,
and that he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe these and all the truths which the holy Catholic Church teaches,
because thou hast revealed them, who canst neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

I believe these and all the truths which the holy Catholic Church teaches,
because thou hast revealed them, who canst neither deceive nor be deceived. Amen.
Where it comes from
One of the three acts of the theological virtues — faith, hope and charity — taught together in the catechism and prayed together, often before confession.
Frequently asked
When is it prayed?
Before confession, at the start of the day, or whenever belief needs saying out loud rather than assuming.
