St Faustina Kowalska
(1905–1938) Polish sister of Our Lady of Mercy, a convent cook and gardener with three semesters of schooling, whose Diary records Christ's call to trust in Divine Mercy. From her visions came the Mercy image, chaplet, and feast kept the Sunday after Easter.
Saint Faustina, secretary of mercy, pray that we trust in Jesus and are merciful in turn.
